The workshop is on Hayes Lane in Lye, just outside Stourbridge, and most of our work is within half an hour of it: the Dudley borough, Sandwell, and out towards Wolverhampton and Birmingham. Beyond that we make and send gates anywhere in the country, which is how we come to be working in Tamworth, Nottingham, Manchester and London as well.
Lye is where the workshop is, on Hayes Lane, so measuring up here is a five minute job and fitting normally follows within a couple of weeks..
B64Cradley Heath is a couple of miles up the road from the workshop and the terraced housing there throws up the tight entries we make most of our side gates for..
B64Old Hill is a short run from the workshop, so we know the housing there and the awkward entry widths that come with it..
B65Rowley Regis sits on the hill above us, so drives there often fall away sharply and gates have to be made to follow the ground..
B65Blackheath is a working high street with housing tight behind it, so the same week can be a shop grille and a garden gate two streets away..
B63Halesowen has wider frontages than most of the patch, which is where double driveway gates and matching railings do the most..
DY5Quarry Bank is the next place along from the workshop, and the housing there runs from terraces with narrow entries to drives wide enough for a full pair of gates..
DY5Brierley Hill mixes retail and units with plenty of housing, so the work there runs from a yard gate to a front garden railing..
DY2Netherton is a short run north of the workshop and much of it is older housing where the entries were never built to a standard width..
DY1Dudley is a mix of town centre commercial premises and steep residential streets, and both come with their own fitting problems..
DY8The workshop is in Lye, minutes from Stourbridge town centre, and the period frontages here are where matching the existing railing detail matters most..
DY6Kingswinford is largely newer estate housing with square openings and easy access, which usually keeps a driveway gate to a single fitting visit..
B69Oldbury is heavy with trading estates, so most of what we fabricate there is site gates and fencing rather than domestic work..
B66Smethwick puts old industrial units and dense terraced housing side by side, and we get called out for both in the same week..
B70West Bromwich is a busy centre with parades of shops, and shopfront security work is the job we are most often called there for..
DY4Tipton is canals, old works and housing packed in between, so access for fitting is often tighter than the job itself..
WS10Wednesbury has trading estates strung along the New Road, and yard gates that take constant use are the bulk of the work there..
WV1Wolverhampton is the far edge of our normal run and worth the trip, particularly where a job takes in gates and railings together..
B1Birmingham work is mostly the western side of the city, where a run out from the workshop is straightforward..
B79Tamworth sits out beyond Birmingham on the A5, and it is far enough along it that we book the visit in properly, but close enough that gates and railings there are an ordinary job for us rather than a special one..
UKNottingham is outside the weekly local patch, so gates for the city are made in the Lye workshop first and then delivered or fitted on a date set in advance..
UKManchester is a long run from the Black Country, so the work is planned properly: the gates are fabricated in Lye before anything is booked, and the delivery or fitting date is set around that..
UKLondon is the far end of what we cover, so it is fabrication first and fitting by arrangement: the gates are made to your measurements in Lye and then delivered or fitted on an agreed date..
Every gate we sell is fabricated in our own workshop on Hayes Lane, which means one going to Manchester or London is made exactly the same way as one going to the street outside. Outside the West Midlands we work from your measurements and photographs instead of a first visit, and we will tell you precisely what to measure and where. The finished ironwork is then delivered to you or fitted on a date agreed in advance, and the cost of getting it to you is quoted with the job so you can see it before you commit to anything.
If you are nowhere near the towns listed above, it is still worth a call. Tell us where you are and send a photograph of the opening, and we will say straight out whether making it here and getting it to you stacks up, or whether you would be better off with somebody closer.
Still worth a call. Tell us where you are and what the opening is.
