Do you do wide yard gates?
Yes. Wide openings are normally made as a pair rather than a single leaf, because a single gate of that width puts enormous leverage on the hinge side and will drop no matter how well it is made. We size the posts and hinges for the finished weight and fit drop bolts into ground sockets so the closed gate is held at the middle as well as the ends.
Can you fit a personnel gate next to the main gates?
Yes, and on most yards it is worth doing. Opening a full width vehicle gate every time somebody walks in is how gates get left open and how hinges wear out early. A separate personnel gate in the run of fencing, with its own lock, takes the daily traffic off the main gates entirely.
What sort of fencing do you make?
Fabricated steel fencing to suit the boundary: bar infill, mesh panels and heavier sections where the fence is genuinely doing a security job. We are a fabrication shop rather than a fencing supplier, so where a run of standard panels is genuinely the right answer for the budget we will tell you that.
Can you work outside our opening hours?
Usually, yes. A yard gate being replaced means the yard is open while the work happens, so on a working site we would rather do it early, late or on a quieter day. Tell us the hours and the delivery windows and we will plan the fitting around them.
Can you repair our existing site gates?
Yes, and it is usually the cheaper answer. Most site gates we get called to have dropped on the hinge side, have a post that has moved or have a drop bolt that no longer lines up with the socket. All three are repairable. If the frame itself has gone we will tell you it is beyond a repair rather than take money for a patch.
Do you work for other trades and contractors?
Yes. Builders, developers and property maintenance firms use us for the metalwork on their own jobs, which suits us because the drawings or the sizes usually arrive already worked out. Give us the openings and the spec and we will price the fabrication and the fitting.
